  What is this?
The Bureau of Indian Standards have in 2009 revised the standards of uniform textiles made of cotton, man made fibers / filaments and their blends. The new standard is IS - 15853 : 2009 (superseding IS - 2150 : 1989, IS - 9517 : 1986 and IS - 11248 : 1995). In this standard, flexibility is allowed between the buyer and the seller of fabric for parameters like count, length, width, threads / dm, gsm, fibre composition etc. other weaving and processing parameters have been stringently specified like breaking strength, tear strength pilling resistance, drape (percentage), crease recovery angle etc.

There is an additional requirement that the fabric should have a soil release efficiency of minimum 80% (test IS - 11813) and limited flame spread index to be minimum 2 (test IS - 15758 Part 4).

Why use this?
• The moisture absorbing properly of these fabrics will make the user feel very comfortable.
• The properties of these fabrics in Polyester / Viscose make them ideal for uniform wear.
• These fabrics would be very suitable for dusty and soily environments.
• The limited flame spread property of these fabrics protects personnel from burns and injuries resulting by coming in contact    with flames.
• Fabrics of these standards can be made in blends of Polyester / Viscose and Polyester / Cotton for specific end users.

Who can use this?
The fabric can be used across the following industries and markets :
• Engineering Industries     • School Uniforms                             • Ship Yards and Other Related Industries
• Aviation Sector                    • Construction Industries                 • Fire Fighters and Safety Persons
• Refineries                            • Home Textiles and Hospitality     • Chef Uniforms

The properties of these fabrics are finding immediate acceptance for application like Boiler Suits, Chef Coats, School Uniforms, Safety Personnel etc. We offer fabrics conforming to IS, ISO, ASTN / AATC and other international standards as per customer's requirements. The performance of these fabrics will depend upon the specifications ordered / desired by individual customers.
